Design Philosophy and Overview: LUANG M is a locally manufactured table lamp designed by Faro Lab. The Luang family is inspired by the art and hand-crafted objects made with papyrus and natural fibres in Southeast Asia and by how they create incredibly formal poetic and complex volumetric objects from flat elements. It has a minimalist structure that contrasts profoundly with the free and organic appearance of its shade which, by not having a structure and being materialised exclusively in papyrus, lights up entirely. This model’s shade is beige, providing a very natural, cosy light. Our designs are born from the ability to create new things and solve problems in an original and brave way, both for the creator and for their environment. They are characterized by being ideas that are easy to understand and are expressed through quality materials, originality in shapes and rigour in the use of new technologies.
