Best Interiors of 2025
NOVU WAFFLE / RIYADH
Spanish studio Masquespacio designed the interior of this restaurant in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, referencing the appearance of waffles through grid patterns applied throughout the furniture and décor.
The studio oversaw every element of the design, creating an interior that it describes as “not just a place to eat waffles, but a space where you can enjoy a pleasant moment in a stimulating and energetic atmosphere.”

BRITISH FARMHOUSE / UK
Artist Jobe Burns completed the renovation of a 300-year-old farmhouse in southwest England, transforming it into a home that celebrates its rural identity and aged details.
According to Burns, the overall goal was to create a highly personal home where the client could relax and escape the stress of daily life.
The designer said:
“Everything was about slowing down in terms of the lifestyle they wanted to live here. It’s not a smart home full of technology; all the switches are mechanical, so it feels like stepping back in time.”
The project involved reorganizing the dark and narrow interior to create a more functional series of spaces while preserving the character of the original building. Reused elements appear throughout the house; for example, tiles reclaimed from the original roof now form the base of the fireplace. Fallen trees from the garden were used to make tables and shelves.
“This project was about anchoring something contemporary in a long and quiet history, and tracing that through the built form. It aimed to let the past live in the present and give it a new shape.”

LA DOLCE VITA ORIENT EXPRESS / ITALY
Milan-based Dimore Studio designed the interiors of the luxury train La Dolce Vita Orient Express, the newest model of the world’s most famous railway line, drawing inspiration from Italian design of the 1960s and 1970s. The studio wanted the interior to have a “cinematic” feel.
Moran added:
“The aim was to bring together the charm, elegance, and mystery associated with the legendary Orient Express with Dimore Studio’s narrative approach to interiors.”
“Each space was designed to evoke a cinematic atmosphere, like a scene suspended in time, inviting guests to be both observers and participants in an unfolding story.”
With 31 cabins, including the La Dolce Vita Suite, La Dolce Vita Orient Express will operate journeys across Italy, including destinations such as Venice, Tuscany, and Sicily.
La Dolce Vita Express is the first of Orient Express’s new launch series. Probably the world’s most famous train, the Orient Express first entered service in 1883 and has been immortalized in popular culture, including Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express.

V&A EAST STOREHOUSE / LONDON
American studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro has completed the V&A East Storehouse, the Victoria and Albert Museum’s publicly accessible working storage facility in London.
Built as part of the East Bank cultural district in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the 16,000-square-metre facility houses 250,000 objects, 350,000 books, and 1,000 archives.
The design involved renovating a large portion of the industrial media complex Here East hangar, which was originally built as the broadcast centre for the 2012 London Olympics.
Speaking during a preview of the building, studio co-founder Elizabeth Diller said:
“Essentially, we built another structure by taking the building’s industrial character as our starting point.”
