A Building That Stands Out with Its Terraces and Arches: Tel Aviv Arcades

The facade of the building, defined by arches and stepped terraces, allows it to remain open to its surroundings while protecting it from exposure to the climate. The 116-meter-high tower features 17,650 square meters of residential space with various floor plans, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom units and penthouses. The ribbons of terraces surround the apartments as an extension of the interiors, providing protection from direct sunlight. Chris Precht, co-founder of Penda, states that the terraces create a vertical neighborhood and reflect a positive atmosphere, suggesting that these large open spaces, like special gardens in the sky, allow residents to interact with their neighbors. Tel Aviv, a city known for its Bauhaus buildings, is the epitome of open, rational geometry, with its open towers and clear design language of lines, making it one of the greatest examples of Bauhaus architecture. "The old city of Jaffa, with its cobblestone streets and thick walls of its old buildings, is known for its high-rise structure with handmade brick facades. Even when we design modern buildings, we believe they should reflect a sense of place and respect for their surroundings, history, and culture," he says.
